AFFINITY COVER was established in early 2014 by the CIF and CAPITAL COVER to provide a range of insurance products exclusively for members of the CIF.
AFFINITY COVER products are tailor made to suit the requirements of those operating in the construction industry and has been structured to enable members purchase the range of products through their insurance broker. Recently AFFINITY COVER has been extended to include those companies registered with CIRI in recognition of the important role CIRI will have in providing a mechanism to the public in highlighting those contractors who follow best practice. CIRI The Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI) has been established and is operated by the CIF. The independent Construction Industry Registration Board establishes the criteria, standard and procedures for the registration process and assesses all applications for CIRI registration. CIRI has been established initially on a voluntary basis but will be place on a statutory footing by 2015. CIRI Members commit to abide by an Industry Code of Ethics and Member Obligations. QUALIBUILD The QualiBuild programme is a project to address one of the main issues identified within the Irish Build Up Skills (BUSI) Roadmap i.e. Many construction workers lack the core knowledge in relation to low energy buildings. It has developed a Foundation Energy Skills Programme for construction workers and a Train the Trainers programme to increase the knowledge and competency of trainers involved in construction training. Itis funded by the European Commission Build Up Skills Initiative and is being managed and coordinated by Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) with partners Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Blanchardstown Institute of Technology (ITB), the Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) and The Construction Industry Federation (CIF). |
