Breakfast Briefing – Quality Skills Training in Low Energy Building

A breakfast briefing will take place at Construction House on 21st of November to discuss Quality Skills Training in Low Energy Building.

Registration for the event begins at 8am and the event concludes at 10am

Robert Butler from the  Construction Industry Federation and  Seamus Hoyne from the  Limerick Institute of Technology will speak on the subject.

The Foundation Energy Skills (FES) Programme is a new Continuous Professional Development course specifically designed for on site building construction workers to meet the new energy efficiency regulations and near zero energy building.

The FES course will focus on the skills needed to deliver low energy buildings and is a mix of workshops and site visits, consisting of a total of 3 days commitment for participants. The first programme will start in April 2015 and is open to all building construction workers.

This briefing will map out the scope and content of the training and demonstrate how it links in with the requirements of the new Construction Industry Register for Ireland (CIRI). This briefing is aimed at contractors seeking to upskilll their workers as required under the CIRI register. CPD points are available for attendees.

The FES training will be delivered for free by the QualiBuild project, an EU funded initiative which aims to address Ireland’s current knowledge gap in the building industry in relation to the construction of quality, energy efficient buildings.
