Celebrating 60 Years of Concrete Ideas.

During challenging times, it’s helpful to celebrate the positive news. Specialist building products company, AG have recently had a cause for celebration.  The Northern Ireland building product specialist celebrated 60 years in business. There were celebrations at each of the offices, starting with Fivemiletown, where three generations of the Acheson family joined staff to mark the firm’s historic milestone.  Employing over 230 people, AG has expanded from a single quarry-based outlet to a business with eight locations across the UK and Ireland.

Concrete Ideas and Innovation

The company has a long history of innovation, offering solutions that make construction better, faster and safer for customers. In the 1980s, it was the first company in the UK and Ireland to introduce top-mix paving. More recently it became the first company to offer machine-install retaining wall solutions. As part of its company-wide commitment to sustainability AG has, in recent years, introduced Co2-reducing machinery, employed a conservation manager and implemented various biodiversity programmes at its quarries. The company is also accredited to ISO 14001 for its environmental management systems.

Specification Centre Opened in Dublin

Despite Brexit, AG have shown their clear commitment to the Irish market with the opening of a new, state-of-the-art specification centre in Dublin. The Dublin expansion reflects the success of the company which has experienced a 30% year on year increase in sales.  Ireland is an important market for AG and the new centre will provide an easy to access location where specifiers of all kinds, from landscape designers and design consultants to architects can meet the AG experts and see first-hand the wide rage of products and support AG have available.
