The Organisation

The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) is the voice of the Irish Construction Industry.  CIF is a member led representative organisation, providing a broad range of services that help our members in navigating the political, business, economic and regulatory environment.

Specialist Contracting Services Department

The Specialist Contracting Services Department represents trade associations and mechanical and electrical contractors within the construction sector.  The department implements the policies and directions set out by a number of specialist associations within the CIF and it provides information and assistance on all contractual issues including prequalification, tendering, contract issues and disputes.

With the aim of strengthening its services, the CIF is seeking to recruit an Executive to support the provision of services in the Specialist Contracting team.

 

About The Role

This role is based in the Dublin office and will benefit from our remote working policy.  The successful individual will report to the Director of Specialist Contracting Services and work as part of a small team providing professional leadership and support for member organisations.  The role will focus on the provision of services that add value to the membership in relation to the mechanical and electrical sector and ultimately, the digitalisation and modernisation of the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of a full range of services to members across several of the Federation’s policy areas including contracting, tendering and procurement.
  • Plan and coordinate with colleagues in the Membership department in the development and growth of the specialist contracting membership.
  • Organise and facilitate member meetings and provide proactive support.
  • Organise and manage networking events on behalf of members.
  • Lead working groups and committees and complete actions and related initiatives.
  • Establish confidence in policy areas and comprehend the implications of such and manage the communication process for the members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with members, public bodies and organisations promoting members interests.
  • Assisting the Director across a range of policy and committee areas as required.
  • Design and develop continuous professional development webinars and information sessions.

About The Person

  • A degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage, or considerable relevant experience in a senior administrative or professional services role.
  • Candidates must have a degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administration, project delivery, professional services, policy/research, or marketing/business development role, ideally in the construction sector.
  • Candidates must have the ability to build effective relationships with CIF members, industry professionals and public authorities.
  • Candidates must have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Candidates must have excellent social, oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work independently and manage and prioritise a considerable workload.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
