The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) is the voice of the Irish Construction Industry.  CIF is a member led representative organisation, providing a broad range of services that help our members in navigating the political, business, economic and regulatory environment.

 

The Communications Department

 

The Communications Department is positioned within the CIF to provide strategic oversight and management of communications including media relations, integrated campaign management, digital marketing, branding, website development, social media engagement, event management and publications.

The CIF is seeking to recruit a Digital Experience Specialist to join the team. This is a new role on the team and will suit an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with proven experience in website management, development and governance to support the redevelopment of our online member services portfolio and to maintain excellent performance across the CIF platforms.

Reporting to the Communications Director, this position will be central in the next phase of our digital transformation strategy and our goal to provide convenient, digitally focused member services to construction companies across Ireland.

The Federation is currently embarking on a full development of its digital member services, alongside the development of a new statutory Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI) website and portal. This role will be essential in coordinating the development, maintenance and content of these platforms.

About The Role

 

This role is based in the Dublin office, but travel will be required to events and project sites. The role will benefit from our remote working policy.

Key Responsibilities

 

Development of Digital Member Services:

  • Work with the Communications Director to manage the redevelopment of CIF’s online member services, which includes our website, member portal and training academy.
  • Support the development of the new Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI) website, which is the new statutory register regulating providers of building works in Ireland.
  • In collaboration with IT and external development agency, ensure that the website is successfully integrated into our new CRM.
  • Work across these projects in collaboration with the external development agency, IT, the CIRI office and CIF Training.

Content Management;

  • Ensure that all websites are developed in line with CIF and CIRI’s brand identities.
  • Regularly monitor and maintain websites and portals to ensure content, features and functionality are consistently updated.
  • Proactively manage content and features across our sites in line with federation initiatives, our annual campaigns calendar, and training courses, to maximise performance.
  • Act as the first point of contact for CIF departments in compiling technical information and knowledge resources for our member portal and CIRI registrant area.
  • Optimise content to improve search engine performance and drive web traffic.

Website Maintenance;

  • Lead on web-related projects and improvements, working across departments to gather technical requirements, develop specifications for the external agency or implementing directly.
  • Ensure seamless user journeys from inbound digital campaigns to user transactions and maintain fully functioning forms and payment gateways in collaboration with IT.
  • Provide regular analysis of website performance via Google Analytics and identify improvement as needed.
  • Ensure responsive design and compatibility across devices and browsers.
  • Ensure inclusive website design with high levels of accessibility.
  • Work with IT and web agency to ensure ongoing security updates and GDPR compliance.

About The Person

  • A third-level qualification in communications or digital media or a relevant discipline.
  • 3+ years in a similar role leading on busy, public-facing website(s). Experience of membership portals would be an advantage.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, content management systems (CMS) and Java Script (our new website will use Umbraco).
  • Graphic design experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent project management skills and the proficiency to engage across departments to drive initiatives forward.
  • The ability to work autonomously and independently with a clear sense of self-direction.
  • Experience of working in a busy environment and managing multiple stakeholders’ needs in a positive and friendly manner.
  • An intuition for excellent and engaging content.
  • An ability to solve problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills for web.
  • A full driving license and a willingness to travel to visit project sites.
