The Group

The group encompasses the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), the CIF Pension Administration Services (CPAS) and its sub-entities including the Construction Workers Pension Scheme (CWPS), Milestone Advisory DAC, Construction Executive Retirement Savings (CERS), Construction Workers Sick Pay Trust and the Construction Industry Retirement Trust (CIRT).

The CIF is the voice of the Irish Construction Industry and is a member led representative organisation, providing a broad range of services that help our members in navigating the political, business, economic and regulatory environment. CPAS and its sub-entities provide professional financial and pension administration services to the construction and related industries in Ireland.

 

About the role

With the aim of strengthening HR support to colleagues, the Federation is seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated HR Executive to provide professional and operational assistance to the group.  Reporting to the Group Head of HR, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious HR professional looking for a broad range of HR responsibilities to take the next step in their HR career. This Executive will play a key role in shaping initiatives, driving engagement and supporting in the delivery of a best-in-class HR strategy.

This is a full-time permanent role and will be based across our two offices in Dublin 6 (Ranelagh and Clonskeagh).  The role will benefit from our remote working policy and competitive salary package.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding – oversee full-cycle recruitment from drafting job specifications and advertising to interviewing and onboarding of new colleagues, ensuring an exceptional candidate and stakeholder experience.
  • Employee Relations – support the Group Head of HR in providing guidance on employee relation matters, conflict resolution, coaching line managers and promoting a positive and engaged workplace.
  • HR Administration – provide comprehensive HR administration and support throughout the employee lifecycle, including payroll and benefits coordination.
  • Act as Superuser/Systems Administrator for our HR systems, optimising the system to streamline HR activities/processes where possible, and leveraging its reporting capabilities.
  • Performance & Development – support performance review process and feedback via HR systems, including coordinating training and development programmes.
  • Identify training needs across the federation and design, develop, and deliver training solutions within budget.
  • Compliance & Policy – ensure compliance and updated policies in line with legislation and HR practices and assisting with audit and policy reviews.
  • Manage internal communications related to HR updates and colleague updates.
  • Engage with external H&S providers, to ensure compliance with building, training and other related requirements.
  • Partner with colleagues in the Membership team and the wider group to deliver and enhance the membership and customer experience across the group.
  • Undertake ad-hoc project work such as engagement surveys and people strategies.

 

About the person

Essential

  • A relevant degree in HR, Business or a related discipline.
  • CIPD Membership would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a HR Generalist role.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented HR professional who thrives in a busy and collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, ideally HR Duo and/or HR Locker.
