The management of health issues in construction and providing assistance of those working in the sector has been a concern for the CIF Safety & Health Committee. To this end, we are delighted to support the work of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity who are the only charity to provide emotional, physical and financial wellbeing to our construction community. The charity provides a confidential 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline and supporting app which provides information, advice and guidance on a huge variety of wellbeing issues. For more information search in the app store ‘construction industry helpline’ or find out more here.
With the recent Government’s decision to extend its lockdown of parts of the construction industry, the reality is that this lockdown affects people’s wealth and health. Working with the Lighthouse Club, we urge any of our members to engage with their service and advise their staff to do so also if they feel they are in need of assistance.
This free advice service is available 7 days a week 24 hours a day.
If you or anyone you know are finding it difficult coping with Covid and the effects it’s had on your mental health or financial situation, call the Construction Industry Helpline for support.
The Lighthouse Club is the only charity that provides physical, mental and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families in Ireland & the UK.
Whether you’re an employer or an employee, the helpline provides the first point of contact for those who need to access a range of completely confidential support services.
A crucial element of our strategy is to pro-actively support the industry’s mental wellbeing and ensure the widespread availability of construction focussed training programmes. See our latest educational and training courses, free to attend here and our popular mental health training, which is very useful to members to know about and avail of, as it is usually free or very good value and construction focused.
