Recently, a celebratory morning was held with 6th year students and teaching staff from Beneavin De La Salle College in Finglas, Dublin 11, where twenty students were presented with their SOLAS’ Safe Pass and Manual Handling training certificates. John Paul Construction and SOLAS had each volunteered a bursary fund, allowing for delivery of training at no cost to the students. John Hilland, The Health and Safety Consultancy: www.hscandt.ie generously offered to support the initiative and to deliver the training programmes at a significantly discounted rate. The Safe Pass training was provided to support the students’ desire to take up apprenticeships in the industry.
