Groundbreaking data-led programme to shape the future of workplace culture in construction.
In June, the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) began to undertake steps to understand and strengthen the lived experience of the individuals who power Ireland’s construction sector. Developed in partnership with inclusio, the Building an Inclusive Future initiative will gather high-quality, anonymised data from our membership to create a clearer picture of what it is truly like to work in our industry today.
This is not just a survey – it’s a strategic turning point. By combining inclusio’s pioneering science and technology with the voices of our members, this initiative will provide sector-wide insights grounded in data, not assumptions. The aim is to identify what’s working, what needs to change, and how we can collectively build workplaces where everyone can thrive.
Why it matters
As our industry evolves, we face new challenges: skills shortages, shifting workforce expectations, and increasing regulatory demands. Organisations that understand and support their employees will be better positioned to attract talent, secure contracts, and build lasting reputations.
This initiative gives companies – large and small – a chance to lead that change. By participating, your organisation will:
-
Receive clear, actionable insights to improve culture, retention, and competitiveness.
-
Contribute to a collective sector benchmark that reflects the true experiences of our workforce.
-
Help shape future CIF supports tailored to the needs of members and their people.
Your role in leading change
To the valued members of the CIF, your voice is vital in shaping a successful construction sector for the future. We wish to understand the unique challenges and opportunities that your company encounters in the workplace.
The data is being collected in two parts: the first is aimed at the organisation, while the second will take place later in the year, when we will invite those working in the industry to participate.
How to take part:
-
Champion the initiative within your organisation
-
Engage your leadership and people teams
-
Encourage participation across all levels of your workforce for the second phase
-
Use the results to drive internal improvements and inform your DEI journey
Key message: This Is How We Build Better
This initiative is about more than diversity, equity, and inclusion. It’s about futureproofing our sector.
Act now. Participate. Lead. Build better.
