🌱 Bennett Construction used Earth Day 2026 to outline a series of sustainability initiatives, including a commitment to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 35% by 2030 against a 2024 baseline.

The company also highlighted the work of its newly established Green Team, which is leading a structured programme focused on embedding sustainability and continuous environmental improvement across the business.

🌱 Cairn Homes marked the international Passivhaus certification of passive homes delivered across three Dublin developments in partnership with Tuath Housing Association, Respond and the Land Development Agency.

The certified homes are designed to significantly reduce energy demand, improve occupant comfort and lower household energy bills, demonstrating a scalable approach to high-performance social and affordable housing in Ireland.

🌱 Coffey is delivering Ireland’s largest municipal food and garden waste biomethane facility at Little Island, Cork, in partnership with Kanadevia Inova AG and Stream BioEnergy.

When operational in 2027, the €80 million facility will process 90,000 tonnes of waste annually, generate over 80GWh of renewable biomethane for the national grid and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 40,000 tCO₂e per year.

🌱 Elliott Group highlighted the use of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with JTM Energy across its construction sites, reducing generator runtime to just 16 hours per week versus a typical 45 hours.

The initiative delivered a 34% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and fuel savings of approximately 1,100 litres of diesel per week, while also improving noise levels and site conditions for operatives.
