The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) is the voice of the Irish construction industry.  CIF is a member-led representative organisation providing a broad range of services assisting our members in navigating the political, business, economic and regulatory environment.

At the core of our mission lies our commitment to promptly address the needs of our 1,400 members. By maintaining ongoing engagement with our membership base, we refine and tailor our services to remain meaningful, relevant and responsive.

The CIF wishes to appoint a Head of Southern Region Services servicing the Southern Region. Reporting to the Director of Regions and Services, this role will lead services from the Cork office, ensuring members throughout the region receive comprehensive support from the Federation.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Southern Region Services will have the following key responsibilities:

• Liaise closely with members and Branch committees providing leadership and direction within the Southern region.
• Represent CIF’s interests in the Region ensuring that its views and contributions are recognised and understood nationally and locally.
• Identify problems and issues confronting members and helping to define policy and responses to address them.
• Develop the membership of the CIF in the region and ensuring the efficient collection of subscription income.
• Contribute to national CIF policy development, directly supporting Branch nominees at Executive Body meetings and in the work of its various policy sub-Committees.
• Contribute effectively to the development of Federation services generally.
• Ensure structured means of engagement between members and local and regional stakeholders, and that regional issues are reflected in national communications and lobbying activity

The ideal candidate will have:

• A higher education degree in relevant discipline
• Managerial experience with particular strengths in the areas of representation, negotiation and administration
• A demonstrated record of success in developing and implementing policy.
• Be familiar with the range of current construction issues and the needs of construction companies.

• An understanding of key regional stakeholders, including local authorities, politicians, regional assemblies and Chambers of Commerce.
• Excellent written skills and be an accomplished communicator

• Be able to work on their own initiative and be energetic, directed and able to plan appropriately.

This is a senior position within the CIF providing a challenging role which will require someone with strong management and organisational capabilities and with a strong commitment to serving the needs of members.
