Building an Inclusive Future Initiative 2025
90 Years | One Industry | Every Voice
Initiative overview
The CIF has embarked on a landmark initiative to capture the real voices of the people who power our industry
The Building an Inclusive Future Initiative 2025 survey is now closed.
The survey sought to understand how people experience work across Ireland’s construction industry – from site to boardroom. By gathering confidential, anonymous feedback directly from employees, CIF will generate an unprecedented picture of representation, culture and engagement across the sector.
Launched in collaboration with inclusio, a leading platform for people data capture, and following the conclusion of Phase 1 for employers, Phase 2 focused on employees. The data-driven survey uses world-leading science and technology to provide clear, actionable insights into the lived experience of people in our sector – grounded in data, not assumptions.
This was more than a survey. It’s a defining moment for the Irish construction industry to listen, learn, and lead with evidence.
These insights will
Shape industry policy and representation at national level.
Guide CIF supports and programmes tailored to members’ real needs.
Strengthen competitiveness by helping employers attract, retain and develop talent.
Enhance reputation and credibility of the construction sector as a modern, values-driven industry.
Why this matters now
The construction industry is evolving: new skills demands, workforce shortages, and rising expectations for social value and inclusion are reshaping the landscape. Organisations that understand and support their people will win the contracts, attract the talent, and build the reputation that secures their future.
This initiative provides the evidence base to:
Benchmark progress across the sector.
Identify strengths, risks, and opportunities.
Drive targeted action that benefits businesses, employees, and the industry as a whole.
Why your leadership matters
CIF member companies are the cornerstone of the industry. Your participation and endorsement will:
- Demonstrate leadership and commitment to building an inclusive, future-focused industry.
- Ensure representation: capturing the diversity of perspectives across roles, trades and regions.
- Amplify impact: the more employees who take part, the more robust and meaningful the insights.
- Strengthen the Federation’s collective voice: providing CIF with credible data to advocate for members at national level.
