Health and safety law places certain responsibilities on organisations and employers, and directors can be personally liable when these responsibilities are breached. In an industry like construction, these responsibilities are highly relevant. In short, members of the board have both collective and individual responsibility for health and safety. This session will look at these responsibilities and how they can be addressed.

Speaker: Clare Cashin, Partner, Philip Lee Solicitors

Clare is a partner in the Projects and Construction group of commercial law firm, Philip Lee LLP. She specialises in disputes and regulatory matters within construction. She is a noted health and safety law practitioner in the construction industry, has many years of experience in advising clients and representing them in health and safety prosecutions. She lectures in Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin on the statutory regimes. She sits on the committee of the Health & Safety Lawyers Association of Ireland and contributes to various periodicals on the subject.
