IHBA ‘Scaling Up’ Development Funding Webinar with Ernst Young – 24th October 2024
The IHBA hosted a lunchtime webinar, ‘Scaling Up – Development Funding’ with Ernst & Young on Thursday, 24th October. The webinar focused on the Irish residential development financing market and the optimum approach to structuring and raising both equity and debt for development projects to help scale up existing operations. Both Michael Armstrong and Dan Murphy, Directors at EY Capital & Debt Advisory, discussed the evolution of the funding landscape over the past number of years, including the current pools of capital & funders alongside government supports. There was also a focus on optimizing the capital stack with various financing solutions and preparing for and approaching funders to raise finance for and throughout the term of the loan or investment.
Uisce Eireann – Temporary Time-Limited Refund of Standard Connection Charges
The IHBA hosted a lunchtime webinar on Tuesday 2nd July with Uisce Éireann regarding the Temporary Time-Limited Refund in respect of Standard Connection Charges for Residential Development. UÉ provided an overview of the refund scheme itself, outlined the key documentation required for a refund application, the application process and the expected timelines for refunds. This follows a previous webinar with UÉ that took place when the rebate scheme was initially announced.
Building Regulations (Part B Fire Safety) Amendments 2024 – 11th June 2024
The IHBA hosted a lunchtime webinar with fire safety consultants, Maurice Johnson & Partners, on Tuesday 11th June at 1pm. The webinar provided an overview of the Technical Guidance Document B, which was published in Spring 2024.
ESB Network Construction Standards – 26th January 2024
The IHBA hosted a lunchtime webinar on Friday 26th January 2024 where ESB covered topics such as the Housing Scheme Book covering minimum standards, ESB Sub Station standards, and ESB Civil Inspectors, during their Networks Construction Standards presentation.
CIF Safety Month – Critical Risks in Residential Development – 12th Oct 2023
The IHBA held a webinar on 12th of October 2023, focusing on ‘Critical Risks in Residential Development’, and aligning with the theme for CIF Construction Safety Month 2023 #Cifsafety23. Key topics discussed included ‘Site Safety & Logistics’, ‘Lifting Operations’, and ‘Residential Trench Box & Scaffolding Guide’.

Uisce Éireann outlined the Scheme Criteria and provided clarity for Customers seeking a refund for Water and/or Wastewater Standard Connection Charges as part of this Scheme.
