Quarter 4 (Oct-Dec)

On the Road, Off-Road, Onsite

October 2025

The CIF Safety Campaign for 2025 was scheduled from October 13th to 24th, in partnership with Spinal Injuries Ireland. The campaign theme for 2025 is ‘Back to Basics’ and the campaign hashtag is #CIFSafety25. At its heart, safety is not about new rules or complex systems. It is about leadership, culture, and people. The CIF requested companies across construction to step back, examine their safety management systems, and, most importantly, talk to their teams. Honest conversations, reflective feedback, and an openness to listen can reveal far more than any report. Safety is lived on the ground, and the people delivering our projects often see the risks most clearly. The campaign coverage is captured on the Construction Safety Campaign Media Hub.

World Stroke Day 2025 falls on 29th October. Annually, circa 7,500 people in Ireland have a stroke, and +90,000 people live with the effects of a stroke. The ‘Every Minute Counts’ campaign seeks for persons to recognise the signs of stroke and the urgent need to #ActFAST.

November 2025

For the month of November, the focus is on driver-vehicle-journey, whereupon we need to take extra safety precautions to counter winter driving conditions, fatigue and driver distraction. Colum Costello has provided a Winter Driving Checklist as a downloadable toolbox talk.

Movember is a leading charity with a mission to change the face of men’s health. From 1st November, consider growing a moustache and supporting open conversations around men’s health, including prostate cancer. Signing up your workplace to The Mo Construction Challenge means not only will the moustache raise vital funds for men’s health but it will help spark conversations. The outcomes of those conversations are game changing – colleagues feel more connected, stigma is broken, help is accessed, and men take preventative action for their health.

The Marie Keating Foundation highlights that over 4,000 men are diagnosed annually in Ireland with prostate cancer – consider arranging a PSA blood test with your GP/doctor.

Diabetes and well-being is the theme for World Diabetes Day 2025, which falls on 14th November. In advance, Diabetes Ireland will hold a free Diabetes Health Awareness Exhibition in the Riu Plaza, The Gresham Hotel, O’Connell Street, Dublin 1 from 12:00-16:30 on 10th November.

December 2025

The CIF has partnered with Uisce Éireann for their 2025 ‘Caring for Christmas’ campaign. A key objective is to promote safety and wellbeing and to pinpoint supports across infrastructure delivery projects. The 2024 Caring for Christmas campaign sought to highlight the added pressures that this time of year presents. Be mindful of those around us – a small act of kindness or a listening ear can make all the difference. Reach out and share your problems – there’s always someone there to support you. A live webinar is scheduled for 25th November in conjunction with Uisce Éireann, which will provide further details on the campaign – keep an eye on CIF social channels for further details.

The UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed annually on 3rd December. The theme for 2025 is ‘Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future’. For the Construction Safety Campaign 2025, the CIF partnered with Spinal Injuries Ireland (SII). The charity is Ireland’s only dedicated support service for the over 2,500 people living with a spinal cord injury and their 20,000 family members.
