Administrator – Specialist Contracting

The Organisation

The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) is the voice of the Irish Construction Industry.  CIF is a member led representative organisation, providing a broad range of services that help its members in navigating the political, business, economic and regulatory environment.

 

Specialist Contracting Services Department

The Specialist Contracting Services Department represents a wide range of trades operating in the construction sector through two umbrella associations: the Alliance of Specialist Contractors; and the Mechanical and Electrical Contractors Association.

The primary focus of this administrative role is on the Mechanical and Electrical and Off-site Manufacturing sectors. From a policy perspective, the department holds responsibility for formation of CIF policy relating to digitisation and plays an active role in policy formation relating to procurement, tendering and contractual matters.

With the aim of strengthening its services, the CIF is seeking to recruit an Administrator to join the Specialist Contracting team. This position will suit an enthusiastic and ambitious individual with a growth mindset and an interest in the construction sector. The role require flexibility to meet varying tasks as well as strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a common-sense approach.

 

About the role

This role is based in the Dublin office and will benefit from a remote working policy.  The successful individual will report to the Director of Specialist Contracting Services and work as part of a small team.  The role will focus on providing assistance to deliver a wide range of services that add value to the membership with an emphasis on event management. It will suit an individual who is willing to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and facilitate member meetings through the provision of proactive support including issuing of agendas, preparation of minutes and action points etc.
  • Assist the Director of Specialist Contracting in organising networking events on behalf of members.
  • Day-to-day operational issues within the Specialist Contracting team to include handling of enquiries, general correspondence and general administration.
  • Management of invoicing and maintenance of basic accounts.
  • Liaise and coordinate with colleagues in the Membership department in the development and growth of specialist contracting membership.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with members, public bodies and organisations promoting member interests.
  • Assist the Director across a range of policy and committee areas as required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable relevant tasks as may be requested by the Director of Specialist Contracting.

 

About the person

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administration role.
  • Excellent customer service & telephone skills.
  • Excellent I.T. skills, to include Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and online systems experience.
  • Candidates must have the ability to build effective relationships with CIF members, industry professionals and public authorities.
  • Candidates must have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work independently and manage and prioritise a considerable workload.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage, or relevant experience in a membership organisation.
